WKU Football Edges North Texas

WKUWestern Kentucky had the first and last word against North Texas this past weekend. It was the parts in the middle that had WKU fans concerned. Despite all the worries, the Hilltoppers gave their fans something to remember with a 25-24 win.

Kawaun Jakes struck first throwing a short touchdown pass for the Hilltoppers. After that, the Mean Green exploded scoring three straight touchdowns in the first and second quarters. Toward the end of the first half WKU was able to stop the bleeding for a little bit with a field goal.

Both sides battled to a stand off in the third quarter until North Texas scored another touchdown and things weren’t looking good for WKU.

As the final period got underway, WKU turned up the heat as they scored three touchdowns en route to the victory.  The defense started the charge early in the fourth quarter, then the offense followed the way.
