Stewart Stadium Gets News Press Box Windows | Racers

“I Can See Clearly Now…”Racers

The press box at Roy Stewart Stadium is getting new windows this week in the continuing improvements that have been made to the grand home of Racer Football.

Fans have noticed a lot of activity at the stadium this week as the crew from Sunbelt Scaffolds spent two days getting scaffolding ready for the project. Once the scaffolding was ready, the crew from Window World began taking out the original windows and installing the new ones. The new windows will give the press box a cleaner look and keep it cooler on hot days.

Stewart Stadium is also getting a new public address system from Music One.

The press box windows follow other improvements to the facility including Field Turf and chair back seats. The weight room, football locker room and offices have also been remodeled recently.

This year is the Racers‘ 88th season of football and the 2012 home opener with Central Arkansas (Sep. 8.) marks the 40th season for Murray State Football in Stewart Stadium. The Racers opened the facility Sep. 15, 1973 under Head Coach Bill Furgerson with a 27-25 win over Western Carolina. The Racers have a 137-70-2 all-time record at Stewart Stadium.
