Pekka and Preds Heat Up Series | Predators

Perfection for Pekka and the Predators on the melting ice at Bridgestone Arena, as Pekka Rinne was red hot!  The Coyotes fired 32 shots on goal but Rinne was able to protect at an all-time best for the goalie.  Rinne nabs his first playoff shutout of his career.

The Coyotes came to Music City with a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series after claiming the first two at home in Phoenix.

Nashville had scored a goal in each period of the series but came up short in both earlier contests.  The Predators attacked early jumping out to score 2 quick goals from David Legwand and  Mike Fisher within 66 seconds of each other.  While the offense failed to score again, the defense was outstanding primarily due to physical play and outstanding puck movement.

Coach Barry Trotz was much happier about the effort given by the Predators in this outing.  Trotz and the rest of the Predators claimed responsibility for lack of team defense in Phoenix.

The Preds are now hoping to use the momentum gained to tie the series up in Game 4 Friday night at 6:30 in Nashville.
