MVP Goes To Carlisle at MCHS

Carlisle in Great Company

On a record breaking night, the Macon County Tigers’ Seth Carlisle put on a performance which has never been seen by Tiger fans or many others, for that fact. The 6’ 1”, 205-pound QB/S from Lafayette, TN had a 7- touchdown night which ranks his performance as 4th all-time in TSSAA history for touchdowns in a single game. His 42 points scored in a single game, also put him into the TSSAA record books and ranks him 4th all-time (just behind Jalen Hurd) and sets several school records at MCHS.

Seth Carlisle on his record setting night against Jackson County

On the road against the 3-0 Blue Devils at Jackson County, Macon County was well prepared for the task. This matchup turned into a terribly entertaining shootout, which would produce 104 total points (70 in the second half) with 863 yards of offense. An early forced turnover by the Tigers defense gave MCHS and Carlisle the opportunity for a 19- yard jaunt into the end zone which put the Tigers up 7-0 with 7:53 in the opening stanza. This was the first of many to come.

Carlisle would go on to rack up 219 yards on just 19 carries with 6 offensive TD’s. From his safety position, Carlisle sealed the deal with an interception returned for a 65- yard touchdown in order to preserve the win and assure his place in the records.

Carlisle and the Tigers travel to Maplewood for a showdown in Region 5-4A on Friday night, September 16 with kickoff at 7:00 pm CT.

Congratulations, the MVP Award this week goes to Seth Carlisle.
