BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – Union College women’s head golf coach Bill Sergent announced Kennedey Murray signed her national letter of intent and will join the Bulldog program for the 2017-18 season.

Murray, a product of Jackson County High School, will join the Union program off a successful prep career for the Lady Generals as she became the high school’s first female golfer to receive a scholarship to play collegiately.

Last fall, Murray led her team with a 7-over par average to win the region title; being the first time in schools history. As an individual, Murray holds the school record for lowest points, while being named to the All Region team with multiple top finishes in the Kentucky PGA tour. She also competed well in the Kentucky women’s state am and the Kentucky State Junior Am.

Academically, Murray is currently ranked 13th in her class.

Murray, the daughter of Brian and Angela Murray plans to major in either clinical psychiatry or clinic psychology at Union College.
