Keith Klink from wrestling, Kelsey Joslyn from women’s gold and Trina Slapeka from women’s tennis all honored | Lindsey Wilson

COLUMBIA, Ky. — Lindsey Wilson College student-athletes Keith Klink, Kelsey Joslyn and Trina Slapeka are Capital One Academic All-District At-Large Team selections, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced on Monday.

The 2012 at-large teams have been released to recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Capital One became the entitlement rights holder to CoSIDA’s Academic All-America team programs in 2011.

Klink recently graduated from Lindsey Wilson with a Business Administration degree and 3.35 GPA. The native of Arcadia, Wis., finished as a national runner-up this season at the NAIA Wrestling National Championships.

Joslyn is a member of the Blue Raider women’s golf program and just completed her junior year of college with a 3.83 GPA while working towards a degree in communications.

Slapeka is also a recent graduate, completing her degree in communications with a 3.57 GPA. The Jurmala, Lativia native wrapped up her women’s tennis playing career last week when the Blue Raiders lost in the national quarterfinals at the NAIA National Championship.

The Academic All-District teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada.

This is the first year of the expanded program as CoSIDA moves from recognizing a University Division (Division I) and a College Division (all non Division I) and doubles the number of scholar-athletes honored.

The teams include NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III participants, while the College Division combines NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.

The Academic All-District honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
