Allan Makes NAIA Women’s Golf National Tournament Field

COLUMBIA, Ky. — Lindsey Wilson College sophomore Kaitlin Allan has earned an individual at-large bid to compete in the 20th annual National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Women’s Golf National Championships.

Allan was the top rated golfer not on a team that qualified for the national tournament and not to win medalist honors at the conference tournaments. Allan is ranked 17th in the NAIA as an individual in the latest Golfstat rating.

Allan enters the tournament with a 78.6 scoring average.

The national tournament takes place May 15-18 at Link Hills Country Club in Greeneville, Tenn.

A total of 144 golfers earned their way to Link Hills. Twenty-eight teams qualified — either automatically or via an at-large berth — with the remainder of the field consisting of four individuals.

Allan owns a win and six top-five finishes this season. She finished tied for second at last week’s Mid-South Conference Tournament.

At last season’s national championships at Link Hills, Allan finished tied for 40th with a 323 (78-83-82-80).

Tee times for the national tournament will be announced on Friday, May 4. The first of the four-round event is scheduled for Tuesday, May 15.
