WKU Quick Hits

Officially, Summer has just a few days left. You can’t tell on the Western Kentucky campus as the 2012-2013 sports season is in full swing.

WKUSunday, the WKU soccer team returned to action. Vanderbilt provided the opposition this week. WKU had early 1-0 lead. The Commodores though were able to sail through the choppy seas en route to a 4-1 win.

WKU is 4-3 and has one non-Sun Belt tune up.

WKU (4-3-0) has just one non-conference game remaining before beginning Sun Belt Conference play.

The WKU Men’s Golf hits the road this week for the first of ten regular season tournaments.

Monday and Tuesday, they participate in the 43rd Annual Huntington Invitational at Guyan Golf & Country Club in Huntington, W. Va. begins on Monday with 36 holes. Third year coach Phillip Hatchett returns eight letterwinners from the 2011-2012 squad and welcomes six newcomers for 2012-2013.
