Vitello To Be Named Baseball Coach on Rocky Top

Considered as one of the top recruiters in the nation each year, former Arkansas Razorback assistant baseball coach/recruiting coordinator Tony Vitello will step into the  head coaching position for the Tennessee Volunteers, according to the university. Tennessee Vice Chancellor/ Director of Athletics John Currie will introduce Vitello and welcome him to Rocky Top at a press conference on Friday.

Vitello, a native of St Louis, MO has brought in some of the top high school and junior college talent for the Razorbacks for the past four seasons. He attended De Smet Jesuit High, where he played for his father, Greg Vitello, longtime Spartans baseball and soccer coach.

Many in around baseball in Missouri pegged Tony Vitello as the top pick to lead MIZZOU baseball before the position was eventually filled by Steve Bieser from Southeast Missouri State.

A nationally recognized college baseball publication, D1Baseball.com, ranked Vitello one of the best recruiters in the country. Vitello was tops in the SEC and second overall.
