The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men’s Basketball team would celebrate Senior Day on Saturday by hosting the NAIA #6 ranked Tigers of Campbellsville University.  With UC saying goodbye to two seniors inTony Bradley (Alton, IL) and Chance Armstrong (Mt. Washington, KY), the Patriots looked to send out the two with a big victory in their final game on the home floor.

UC came out looking sharp in the 1st half, holding a 31-26 lead at halftime.  The Patriots then came out with a vengeance in the 2nd half as a couple of big runs by UC and some big stops would give them a 73-54 victory over the Tigers.  With the win, UC moves to 19-7 overall and 8-5 in Mid-South Conference play.

BY THE NUMBERS

  • UC was led in the game by Xavier Owens (Tampa, FL) with 21 points and 8 rebounds.
  • Tony Bradley added 18 points and 11 rebounds in the win on Senior Day.
  • D’Lando Carter (Danville, IL) pitched in 14 points and 3 rebounds off the bench.
  • Chance Armstrong would score 10 points and pull down 5 rebounds in his Senior day performance.
  • The Patriots shot 47.5% from the floor in the game and 100% (7-7) from the free throw line.
  • Campbellsville was led by Eric Gaines with 12 points and 6 rebounds.

UP NEXT

The Patriots will the road for Mid-South Conference play on Thursday against Shawnee State University as they look for the season sweep of the Bears.  Tipoff is set for 8 pm.
