Roberson, Clark Deemed OVC Volleyball Players of the Week | Morehead

MoreheadMOREHEAD, Ky. — After helping their team finish the Ohio Valley Conference regular season at a perfect 16-0, Morehead State senior volleyball players Ellie Roberson and Caitlin Clark were again selected as league Players of the Week.

Roberson was tabbed Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight week, fifth time this year, and ninth time in her career. Clark earned her fourth Setter of the Week honor this season and the 10th award in her career.

Roberson finished the regular season on a strong note, leading the Eagles in kills in wins versus Eastern Kentucky and Austin Peay. She had 33 kills (5.50/set) and hit .403 for the week, helping MSU complete just the eighth perfect OVC season in league history. She totaled 14 kills and hit .385 in a three-set win over EKU. She had a slower start at Austin Peay with seven kills in the first two sets, but she erupted for 12 of the Eagles’ 17 kills in the third set while not making an error on 18 swings (.667). She finished with a team-high 19 kills on a .417 hitting efficiency. It marked her ninth match with a .400 or better attack percentage.

Clark dished out 73 assists and helped lead the MSU offense to a .325 hitting efficiency. She produced her team-best 10th double-double (44 assists, 11 digs) in a three-set win over EKU. Clark totaled 32 assists and six digs in the regular season finale win at Austin Peay.

Morehead State hosts the OVC Tournament this week. The Eagles open the event versus eighth-seed UT Martin Thursday at 7 p.m. ET.
