Game time set for Football Govs contest at Virginia Tech | Austin Peay

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Austin Peay State University’s football game at Virginia Tech, Sept. 8, will be a 1:30 p.m. EDT (12:30 p.m. CDT) kickoff, announced the Atlantic Coast Conference, Thursday.

The contest-the first time APSU will play an ACC program-will be played in famed Lane Stadium and broadcast online at ESPN3.

Not only will Virginia Tech be the Govs’ first ACC opponent, but as well the third NCAA Bowl Championship Series (BCS) foe in school history. The Governors, who played their first Bowl Championship Subdivision team in 2010 at Wisconsin, played Big East power Cincinnati to open the 2011 season.

The Governors also have another BCS foe on its schedule when it plays Southeastern Conference member Vanderbilt in 2013 and 2015.

In addition to the BCS schools, the Governors also have on tap two other Football Bowl Subdivision opponents. The Governors will open the 2012 season at Western Kentucky, Sept. 1, and will play Ohio in 2013.
