Football Sells A Record Number of Season Tickets | Louisville

Cardinals sell 43,432 season tickets for the 2012 campaign

 

LouisvilleLOUISVILLE, Ky. – A great response from University of Louisville football fans has established a new school record for season tickets sold for the upcoming 2012 campaign.

According to numbers released on Thursday, the Cardinals have sold a school record 43,432 season ticket packages for the 2012 football season, and the season opener versus Kentucky at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 2, is sold out.

“The response from our fans for season tickets has been tremendous,” said Vice-President/Director of Athletics Tom Jurich. “We knew there was going to be a lot of excitement because of what Charlie (Strong) and his staff have brought to the program and with the players we had returning. We knew the demand for tickets this season was going to be great and, as usual, our fans didn’t disappoint. I think it’s a credit to the great football fans we have within this program, and I’m extremely excited to kick off the season on Sunday.”

Individual single-game tickets for the final six games of football season are now on sale at the U of L Ticket Office and through Ticketmaster.

Tickets are $50 for reserved lower bowl seats for the final six home games: Sept. 8 vs. Missouri State; Sept. 15 vs. North Carolina; Oct. 20 vs. USF; Oct. 26 vs. Cincinnati; Nov. 3 vs. Temple; and Nov. 24 vs. Connecticut. All tickets in the UPS Flight Deck will be sold for $12 each.

Tickets may be purchased with no service fees by visiting either of the two U of L ticket offices: Gate 2 of Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium adjacent to Floyd Street; or on the third floor of the Swain Student Activities Center, weekdays from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Cardinal fans may also purchase tickets by visiting www.ticketmaster.com online, calling 1-800-745-3000 or by visiting any Ticketmaster Ticket Center, including statewide Kroger locations.
