BRUINS: McCabe Makes the Mark

The Mt. Juliet, Tenn., native averaged a double-double in Belmont’s victories last week, dropping in 10 points and 13.5 rebounds per outing.  She shot 41 percent from the floor over the two games and also had five blocks, one assist and one steal.

On the road at Jacksonville State, McCabe tallied her second double-double of the season with 12 points and a game and career-high 19 rebounds in the overtime win.  She also recorded a game and career high five blocks against the Gamecocks.  McCabe’s 19 rebounds set a new Belmont freshman record in the category that had remained untouched since 2005.

Three days later against Morehead State in the Curb Event Center, McCabe dropped in eight points and grabbed eight boards in the win.

Belmont returns to action on February 21 with its final OVC road game of the regular season.  The Bruins travel to in-state rival Tennessee Tech for a dual beginning at 5:30 p.m.  The matchup can be seen live on the OVC Digital Network and fans can listen live to Dr. Rich Tiner on the play-by-play call on the Bruins Sports Network.  Live stats and an in-game Twitter feed (@BelmontWBB) will also be available.
