Former Govs pitcher Jack Snodgrass has been named to the California League All-Star team in his first full season as a professional.

Snodgrass, a 2011 graduate, has posted a 6-2 record and 2.89 ERA in 12 starts with the San Jose Giants, the Advanced-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. He has compiled 50 strikeouts while walking only 19 batters in 71.2 innings in his first full season of professional baseball. Snodgrass has allowed two runs or less in eight of his 12 starts and earlier this season pieced together a streak of 24 consecutive innings without allowing a run. He is ranked among the California League’s leaders in wins (third) and ERA (sixth).

Snodgrass will join an impressive list of former San Jose players selected to the California-Carolina League All-Star Game. Current major leaguers Pablo Sandoval, Buster Posey and Russ Ortiz also played in the game, which will be played for the 16th time this season.
