Barton and Ogle lift Panthers to overtime win | Kentucky Wesleyan

KWC triumphs over Trevecca Nazarene in season-opener

Bianca Barton made two free throws and Jordan Ogle hit a three-pointer to lift Kentucky Wesleyan to a 83-79 come from behind overtime victory over visiting Trevecca Nazarene Tuesday night at the Sportscenter.

With the Panthers down 79-78 with 1:41 left in overtime, Barton tossed in two free throws for the lead.

The Trojan’s (1-3) had three tries at the basket before Ogle grabbed the rebound with 42 seconds remaining.

After a Panther timeout and taking 19 seconds off the clock, Ogle put KWC out of reach with a deep three-pointer on a pass from Shelbi TyraKourtney Rhoads intercepted a pass with six seconds to seal the victory.

Barton led four Panthers in double figures with 15 points plus five assists. Karly Rhoads added 14, Ogle came off the bench for 11 and Lauren Goffinet had 10.

T’Essence PhelpsKarly Rhoads and Ogle each grabbed a team-best five rebounds. Trevecca won the battle of the boards 39 to 33.

KWC forced 26 turnovers with 14 steals. Goffinet, Phelps, and Karly Rhoads collected three steals a piece.

The Panthers led 38-35 at half and settled at 72-all at the end of regulation.
